Photo legends / captions We had a very productive trip to Nigeria in May. It was rewarding to
travel with my sons, Stefan and Landan. They were very active in surgery
and learned much on rounds and in the lab. They were able to attend
several services where I was preaching as well. On one of their days off,
they caught two lizards and did "tail transplant" surgery in which one
survived and was crawling around our compound several days later. They
both experienced God in a new way. We pray God continues to impart a
vision for missions to them.

Aba We were also able to take several residents, premedical, and nursing
students with us. We were so grateful to have them along. They all
received valuable medical experience as well as a call to do more in
medical missions in the future. It was such a blessing to have them along.
We thank God for their compassionate hearts as they were able to serve the
people of Nigeria. The Brazos Family Medicine Residency continues to
support our work, by allowing me to go twice a year to do the needed
surgeries and consultations. You may see some of our latest photos on our
website listed below. Our primary focus this past year has been the HIV Vaccine that we have
been unable to fund. The initial study requires $50,000 to purchase a CD4
count machine and enough vaccine to treat 50 individuals. We are grateful
to those of you who have contributed toward this cause. To date we have
been able to procure $5,500. I have an individual that may be able to get
up to a $15,000 discount on the machine, which would bring the balance to
$24,500. Please consider partnering with us to help fund this project. We
are treating these patients at our hospital, but it is just patchwork,
where this vaccine could possibly work as a preventative as well as work
toward a cure. It grieves me each time I make the trip to Nigeria and am
unable to help the HIV situation in a significant way. Please pray that
God would help us to meet this need so that we can proceed with this
project on my next trip at the end of September. The Tobago/Trinidad work continues full stream being led by Drs.
Haywood Robinson & Noreen Johnson who just returned from their latest
trip. They are establishing a clinic with the assistance of Medical
Bridges and Partners in Mission of the Methodist church. If you're interested in making a trip with us, our next two trips are
scheduled for September 24th through October 15th and May 8th through May
29th. Arrangements can be made for those wanting or needing a shorter or
extended length of stay. Total costs including room and board is about
$2500. May God bless you and your family as you make a difference in your
circle of influence. Please continue to pray for us as we minister through
medicine. In His service,
